I have been a RapidPeer seedbox user for about 6 months now and have 2 services with them.

Their setup was instant and the two seed-boxes preforms great in terms of torrent speed and server speed.

Rapidpeer’s prices are low but now im seeing some companies that are even lower, either way its not worth the move for me.

RapidPeer.com – Such A Bloody Experience, Never Again (SABENA)

I have my own server to seed all my important stuff (some torrents seeded there for over two years).

What I needed was a shared box to serve as a proxy for ratio killers (old torrents with 1-3 seeders that take a week to download) and overseeded freebies. All of them with no chance to seed back within a reasonable time, but this was not important because I can always keep ratio with my other server.
So the idea was: download, make a new torrent, upload, seed the new one till two-three peers grab it and then remove. No special requirements for speed (2-3 MB/sec upload is more than enough in most cases), the downloading as I said might take days and even weeks.

So I signed with rapidpeer.com for their ‘Gold’ plan:
    Bandwidth: Unlimited
    Disk Space: 135 GB
    Max Total Users: 3
Line Speed: 100 mbit Full Duplex
    Active Torrents: Unlimited
    Price: $25 USD

The problems started immediately after signing in. The first torrent stopped at 3 GB and refused to download further. Eight hours later after several messages from my side the problem was ’solved’ – the guy gave me a new server.

Six days later the server is down for 16 hours. No explanations given.

A day later the account is suspended for overquota. What? Space used: 131 GB. The offer says 135 GB, the guy assured me I have 140 GB. Some more support tickets are left unanswered, 28 hours later the service is restored. No explanations, no excuses.

Nine quiet days and… the speeds of the box are restricted to 1.0 MB up and 750 MB down.
The support tickets from 17.12.2010 and 18.12.2010 are still not answered. The speeds are further reduced to 1.0 MB up and 500 kB down. As on 20.12.2010 the upload speed is 100 kB, the download is 500 kB., no answer to the multiple support tickets.

So, the bottom line is: SABENA!

P.S. One advice: Always dispute the payment of bad service. The chances you will get the money back are minimal, but the dispute signals the bank (or Paypal) that there is something wrong with this seller. If ten people dispute payments with the same customer the bank will most probably drop the troublesome customer.

3 outages in the first month. For the first one – I raised a High priority support ticket, it was silently deleted (not closed – deleted) after 24 hours and the server came back. Second one, didn’t get time to raise a ticket. Third one – raised another ticket, 24 hours later still unanswered and server still unavailable.

Will I be renewing beyond my first month? Definitely not.

never ever get a seedbox from these guys, their dedicated servers are nothing of the sort, i ended up giving them my server back after two weeks it was ruining my ratios, laughable, and no refunds, and no help

sammers, and ive had dozens of boxes

My seedbox worked perfectly for the first two weeks, then, without any reason the server just died.

It appears that the server suffered a hard drive failure.

My support ticket has been open (without any reply or response) for 8 days now.

No server, no service, no reply to my support ticket… its all very, very strange!

    Should I renew my service? I don’t know …

  • Nessarobert

My seedbox worked well for 2 months then went unaccessible for the last 10 days.
I submitted 2 Support tickets only to have them closed with a no-response comment from Support Service which I never received.

Seriously considering other Service Suppliers, any recommendations?

I am having the same problem for over 10 days
    .
Have you found an alternate service provider to replace Speed Peer?

DO NOT GET RAPIDPEER SERVICE!!  here is my experience with rapidpeer breifly. paid through paypal and payment was confirmed. NO instant setup as they advertised. sent tickets and emails to support, no reply. server was setup 2 days later. worked fine for the first day although it was slow speed no way near advertised. second day my account got suspended for exceeding quota. my allowed disk quota was 400gb and i had not used 20gb by that time yet it got suspended. sent tons of emails to support with no reply whatsoever. filed a dispute through paypal who decided i received what i ordered and closed the dispute! 2 weeks later account is deleted and i lost my money with 1 day of service used. they are absolute scammers with no support. do not fall into the trap of buying from them.

Dont Use Rapid Peer for a Seedbox or a .Dedicated Server

I just wasted 6 days of my life, while the get ready my 1GB Connection Dedicated Server.

I still have my other Seedbox going which is shared at 300MBs & it was going about 10 times faster.

The Remote Desktop feature doesn’t work.

To be able to use the Turbo FTP, you need spend extra for it.

The service is WAY over sold.

    Support is only by ticket.

Very slow response time, and the response is not even something that works.

Just wanted to save the next person thinking about them some money.

    Good Luck.
It also seems that there is only one person working support. When I did get a response back, it was from the same person with a gmail account. (When you filed a ticket, you got a copy sent to your e-mail)Right now I am fighting with Paypal to get my money back. Doubt I will get money back, but its worth a try.
